A true story of love in such a harrowing and tragic time. It certainly is a book full of mixed feelings throughout. One moment you are sad and emotional because it really hits you hard that people truly went through such horrific experiences. And at the same time it fills you with love and courage that no matter what situation these people were having to deal with, they chose to live their life to the max anyway. They didn't wallow in self pity. They took what was thrown at them and made it the best they could. And that for me is what made this a book for everyone to read. Gives you a better understanding of the situation and the pain and yet love that was felt throughout. An excellent novel to keep you gripped and make you realise how lucky you are
