More than worth the hype

When you start a book about Auschwitz, you already have a pretty good sense that the book is going to be tough going. While that is indeed an accurate assumption about this book, there is simply so much more to this book than that.

I found Heather Morris' writing utterly remarkable; in the midst of despair, pain, suffering, and loss, where every part of you wants to look away, Morris encourages you to look again and see a glimmer of hope.

I don't know how much of this story is accurate, but regardless, Morris has crafted a story that reeks of humanity - in both the best and worst sense. I left feeling awestruck at the power we have to not only cause unprecedented pain to one another, but also to have resilience, kindness, and love in the face of total loss.

I’ll be holding onto this story for years to come as it’s more than worth the hype.
