From cover to cover this book gives a fascinating insight into the experience of those kept as prisoners at Auschwitz, commenting on their lives and the roles they were forced into. It also provides a loving story that highlights the compassion and importance of positivity and love in the face of despair.

Morris’ use of characters conveys pivotal messages and perspectives into the lives of those living, working and commanding the run of Auschwitz during the Holocaust.

The descriptions of conditions, both in the context of living and working provide the reader with immense insight into the lives of Lale and Gita as well as many others.

This book was recommended to me by friends and is certainly one I would recommend to others interested in the lives of those in the Holocaust, with particular reference to Auschwitz.
