From the beginning of reading this book I was hooked so much so I couldn’t put it down and read it in a day! It’s emotional and moving and you feel all the feeling every chracter is feeling with it. It was lovely to read and see the main characters lives after and how happy and still dramatic it was. A loving moving and compassionate book about survival and fight to prove the Germans would not win and break them down. I loved how the author visited each location and learnt her stuff to pick up the sense of how the real life people lived , loved and were affected and how Lale himself hand picked the author to be some one who was a happy neautral and not have a natural family hatred to what happened to every one ! Amazing read 5 stars from me.
