I would give this 2.5 stars overall. This is a very hard book to rate because it is based off a true story. I feel bad because the actual real life story is heartbreaking but unfortunately i really disliked the author's writing ;/
it is a shame as the story had so much potential but the characters fell very very flat for me. it felt like they had no motivations or personalities. the writing meant that the plot, although interesting, did not captivate me the way i thought that it would.... :(
however, the book is quick and easy to get through which was good. i don't like stories that dragged too much. i know that these books have sequels but i don't personally have any interest in reading them. I do know that many people loved this book though so maybe i was the anomaly who did not, but i just think this book had more potential than it gave, which is a shame.
