Well what can I say? This book not only broke my heart but opened my eyes to what the Jewish people had to go through. I was immediately engrossed and could not put it down, finishing it in a matter of hours. I already know this will be one of this years top reads. The real life events terrify you but also make you root for Lale and Gita. Written so beautifully, it is an amazing story.
Another reason why I loved this book was the personal touches at the end of the book, the pictures and afterword by son Gary really made the story come to life and made me believe true love can withstand anything.
I can not recommend this book enough to both old and young the story should not be forgotten. Lale and Gita should not be forgotten.
