I'm so pleased I got the opportunity to read this story based on the life of an incredible man. There really are not the words to describe the feelings this book generates.
The story of Lale's life is so deftly told it somehow manages to describe the atrocities, which have been documented so often before, in away that is ultimately uplifting and is filled with a prevailing sense of hope throughout. It is this formula which makes this book such a compelling read.
The book pictures so well the details of how Lale manged to survive whilst also risking his life to help others on a daily basis and his enduring relationship with Gita and I don't think I have ever read an account quite like it before.
