This was such an emotional read, such a beautiful yet sad story. With the way it was written, it had so much emotion and detail in it that you can really understand and feel how it must have felt to have been in the prison. This was my first read about Auschwitz and it felt quite harrowing to begin with, but it was there way of life, there normal.
The story showed great courage, friendships and of working together to help each other. It was also full of hope and despite the situation they never lost hope or got disheartened by what they were aiming for.
I don't usually read books again, but this one I would - because it is a reminder if nothing else, of how lucky we have it.
I would recommend everyone to read this - like they saying goes 'You can’t understand someone until you’ve walked a mile in their shoes', same principle applies for this book as it's based on a true story.
