When I read this book it opened my eyes to how things really was within them times. The style of the writing makes you connect with the characters and feel emotional with there story. I went on to buy the second and third book in the collection too. Must have read even if not a topic your fascinated by it will be a wonderful read

I have recommended this book to my mother to read as she also has a passion about the history of this time and she finished it and begged me for the second and third books to continue with the characters and the story and the detailed historic read which makes ever other book seem shallow and underwhelming.
