This was such an insightful novel and let me into the life of Lale Sokolov the real tattooist of Auschwitz. For once it was so interesting to learn about life inside the camp because this is the first book I’ve read from the perspective of a prisoner. Also it wasn’t the normal story of a prisoner you’d expect, his was a special case as he had some sort of power within the camp. I also loved the romantic aspect of the novel. The main characters were very likeable espically Gita and her group of girl friends.
I only wish there was more information about their lives before the war because it would give a lot more character background knowledge.
I would definitely recommend this book to anyone who is interesting in the holocaust.
