I am a history student, so naturally am intrigued by the history of the novel, but am also a sucker for a love story. I instantly fell in love with the main character Lale and became so invested in following his journey throughout the novel. Heather Morris found the perfect balance of passion and history and told his story perfectly.
I could not put the book down and am currently writing this review at 03:26, after the book kept me up reading. The writing style is easy to follow and would be enjoyable for those who are not as historically involved too.
Overall, a perfect novel for me and I wish could erase my memory to be able to read it brand new, all over again. I would thoroughly recommend this.
