The moment I picked up the book and I turned the first page, I was hooked! An emotional rollercoaster, keeps the reader willing for Lale and Guys to escape the clutches of their captors. It is incomprehensible at times that this is indeed written from true events! The author has truly done justice to Lale and Gita’s amazing and at times horrific journey. The atrocities Lale and those who did not survive are brought to life clearly, to allow the reader to comprehend the full extent of the horrors that occurred behind the scenes. I bought the book on Wednesday and by Friday night I had finished reading it, because it was compulsive reading. It’s very rare that a book like this comes along and commands attention, a beautiful piece of history and literature.
