It took me a while to process and almost recover from this read. It's delicate yet punchy, haunting yet beautiful. It's incredibly well written, thought out and brought together; suiting all ages and educating those who know little and wish to know more, leaving a mark like it did itself in history.
A tale of two lovers in a horrific circumstance, featuring hope, crimes and death, solitude and a literal hell on Earth. We got to see their stories separately and together building a compelling yet heart wrenching read. I didn't cry as much as I first expected but felt my emotions soon letting go towards the end.
I later visited Auschwitz after this read and it was very hard to not to remember and retell in your mind, the characters and story within this read.
