This book was incredible, could not put it down! The characters just feel so real and I could really sympathise with them! Gives an amazing insight into not only what it was like to like in Auschwitz-Birkenau but how it was so difficult for people to live normal lives during this tragic time.
I found the writing style very easy to read, and it really matches the story it tells. Very emotive but also very informative at the same time.
The main character ‘Lale’ was very likeable and described to help everyone before he helped himself. Instantly when this character is introduced you really do sympathise with him and are wowed over by his courage and generosity - real page turner, loved this book!
