Touching, Heart breaking and Achingly Sweet
This isn't my usual type of book genre but all of the hype around it got me interested so I thought I'd give it a try.
Wow, I'm so glad I did! It's now become one of those stories that is much loved and will be long remembered.
The authors writing style is so easy to read and transports you along on a Jewish man's (Lale) story of his time in Auschwitz and, if like me, you struggle with life stories and the like, this book is as easy to read and as gripping as a fiction novel.
At times heart breaking and at others achingly sweet I couldn't put it down and read within two days as I was desperate to find out what happened to Lale during one of the most horrific times in human history.
I have now ordered the authors second book from another person's time in Auschwitz and hope that it brings the actual people that I'm reading about to life.
