I'm pretty mixed up about this book.
On one hand, i really really loved it. I couldn't put it down and I finished reading it in no time. It was quit a quick and easy read, but I i wish it wasn't! I wish it was a bit more deep going and more of a heavy read.
However, I am very interested in historical fiction, based on true events like the war. The book truly carries an amazing and powerful story, I almost can't believe that it actually happened. It's not like anything else I've ever read, it's truly unique and inspiring. But also breaks your heart into a million pieces, because my heart bleeds for all the people who actually went through that horror.
After reading it, I googled for hours to find more information on Lale and get myself more educated on the war.
