Read this book a few months ago but it's still etched in my mind. So sad but also heart warming. The fact is a true story and what everyone suffered and went through is so sad but to read of the love story amongst all this sadness was lovely. A lot of hours of interviews must have gone into writing this book and the author has written Lale's story well. I couldn't put it down. It was a emotional read but also powerful. I've read a few books now on the suffering and ongoings of the concentration camps and I can see this being made into a film just like a couple of the others ( eg. The boy in the striped pyjamas) I recommend this book to all but you may need your tissues at the ready as it's quite a tear jerker.
