A literary mystery with descriptions to visualise.
Reading the FI brought to mind Tana French’s novel ‘The Secret Place’ and all the claustrophobia of an elite school complete with schoolgirl cliques. This is the kind of setting that I devour and on the basis of the fantastically descriptive opening I can imagine being able to envision the feuds, jealousy, obsessions etc that underpin the Catholic boarding school environment.
The mystery of a teacher and student’s disappearance 25 yrs ago holds an enduring interest and unpicking the threads to find an answer is intriguing to say the least! A book I am definitely claiming!
