The first chapters of this book is told by The Journalist who has been in touch with Victoria about her convent school days and a teacher Mr Lavelle. Later that same day Victoria commits suicide. The book then moves on so we learn about Louisa who has attended the same convent and know Victoria. The description of the nuns and the convent are very dark and there are many things to learn about the girls time there and their lives after.
