Firstly, the cover is very appealing. The photography of green leaves against the black background looks very sophisticated and could show the reader a more adult-themed book but could also show the prospects of new life and uncovering of secrets. The title, especially the word "temple" could reflect the calm tone in the First look. The word "vanishing" shows us the plot of the disappearing teacher and pupils. I am very intrigued by this book as it is Rachel Donohue's first novel which she addresses a serious topic in which hasn't been spoken about a lot. This is one of the first books I have seen on the market which speaks about such a serious topic in a calm yet serious tone. Rachel Donohue is a UCD graduate in Philosophy and Politics which could mean she would mean she uses her knowledge to share in her book. I love the alternating voices in the book between the journalist and Louisa. The plot can be relatable, going to a catholic-only girls school. This can really unshadow the truth about what happens in the real world. Murder and missing stories aremy favourite and with such an interesting topic i would really love to win and read this book.
