I must say that was a brilliant opening pages, so sinister and strange, almost like a books conclusion, and having a character jump off a building right at the start is sure to focus me in.
Unusual cover as well.
The story then develops a bit more normally, with some great description setting the scene, and a lack of pace in contrast to the opening. However that's not a bad thing, and I enjoyed reading about life in the temple house boarding nunnery?

I thought it was set a bit early and was surprised when chapter two opened with 1990 but other than that this was a good first read .
I'm not entirely sure of the main protagonist's tone or the full direction of the plot but between the suddenness of the opener and the blurb it could be a good mystery story
