Further chapters appear to guide the reader to the significant events that lead up to this tragic act. It all begins many years ago, when 16yr old Victoria and Louisa meet at Temple House. A foreboding, catholic, convent school run by solemn Nuns. First impressions of the school do nothing to appease the continued sense of foreboding and air of constraint .Especially on first arriving Louisa and the others new girls, are herding like cattle, into the claustrophobic chapel, where Sister Josephine's dead body is resting in an open coffin.
As Louisa would say "my time at Temple House began with death". Straight away the reader is caught up in the intrigue of wanting to know more.
This is a debut novel by Rachel Donohue. Her style of writing is good, descriptive and easy to digest, in fact she writes as if she is an encomplished well established author. Therfore I would welcome the opportunity to read more about the mysterious Temple House and its secrets.
