A fascinating read from the beginning. Opening with the journalist setting the scene as Victoria commits suicide. Then the story begins from Louisa's viewpoint, a gifted scholarship student at the Catholic boarding school, coming from a council estate and a broken home. The author creates an intricate web of a story, excellently written and totally engrossing, taking the reader on a journey along with the characters.
Beautifully descriptive writing adds to the atmosphere of the story, from the desolate feel of the secluded school, to the detailed character feelings. The author has produced a book where the narrative flows easily and makes the book engrossing. I couldn't put it down, I had to reach the end and uncover the whole tale.
