The beginning of the book is set in present day and then reverts back to the first day at boarding school for one of the characters. The writing is captivating and the build up of atmosphere is wonderful, you really felt like you were experiencing their first day at boarding school.
I really enjoyed reading this book and didn't want to set it down. I did however find the ending just a little rushed and didn't explain what exactly happened to one of the main characters. In saying that there could be a sequel written about them and I'd definitely read it if there was! It was an excellent first book and I look forward to reading more from this author. I liked the cover as it was quite creepy, just like the book.
