The Temple House Vanishing is a debut novel by Rachel Donohue. The story is set within the creepy confines of a well to do Catholic boarding school.
Extremely academic and looking for a way to escape from her deeply troublesome life Louisa came to Temple House on a scholarship. This isn’t popular amongst the nuns and the school bullies.
The story follows the friendship of Louisa and Victoria. Throughout the story the two girls get to know Mr Lavelle the first male teacher in the school and they end up spending a lot of time together which gets people talking. Then the day comes where Louisa and Mr Lavelle appear to vanish into fresh air for over twenty five years.
The Temple House Vanishing is a tense and unsettling tale. It’s clear from the start that something went very wrong at Temple House and that more than one person has secrets to hide.
All in all this was a great book and one that I would definitely recommend to others.
