"It began with death, my time in Temple House."

The Temple House Vanishing is an atmospheric mystery by Rachel Donohue.

Twenty-five years ago a student and teacher mysteriously disappeared and a journalist vows to discover exactly what happened to the pair.
Victoria, a privileged and rather spoilt teenager and Louisa a scholarship student form a unique friendship whilst attending a catholic boarding school for girls. A strict, religious school run by nuns. Both develop an unhealthy crush or rather obsession on their bohemian art teacher, Mr Lavelle, with devastating results.

"I think it's important to remember that, here, nothing is ever as it seems."

The Temple House Vanishing is a chilling story full of raging teenage angst and hormones with a severe lack of self-confidence and anxiety. It is told from the point of view of Loisa in the past and the journalist in the present day.
It is full of beautifully descriptive writing that creates a vivid, atmospheric environment for the story to unfold.
It is a dark and brooding, slow-paced story that was, unfortunately, a little too slow-paced for me. I found myself eager for some action and had to wait a long time to find it. Nevertheless, I have no doubt that many will love this and that it will be a success.
