This thriller is set in a boarding school on a cliff with tricky friendships, cliques and nuns. A girl and her teacher have disappeared and this follows both the girl in 'real time' and a journalist researching her case many years later. This skipping between 'then' and 'now' actually works really well and helps to add different perspective to the case as well as shining light on what it's like for those 'left behind'.
There are some stand out characters - the portrayal of being a muddled teenage girl who thinks she knows best is done really well.
This did not go in the direction I expected at all - and I really liked that!
Overall probably a four star read, worth a read for any thriller fans.
