Great debut!
An enjoyable debut from Rachel Donohue.
Although I found the first half of the story slow to build, I enjoyed it enough to keep reading and glad I did; the second half moved at a good pace. It’s an easy read and has a very atmospheric writing style - the descriptions of the boarding school made it feel like a character in itself.
A good coming of age story looking at the relationship of two teenage girls and their new Art Teacher, exploring the issues of trust, truth, love and self-identity. One of the girls is reported missing, along with the teacher ... missing with no trace ... somebody must know something?
I enjoyed the journalist’s thread the most, pulling the story together. I look forward to reading more work from Rachel.
