What makes 'The Temple House Vanishing' even more special is that it's the author's debut. Firstly, I was reading this with a group and a lot of people didn't like the pacing and thought not a lot happened. So, if you like a lot of action in your reading, then maybe this won't be for you. However, in terms of character psychology, this is a very busy book. I work with young people in an inclusion unit, so I find the interplay between young minds fascinating. In this fictional obsession, jealousy, power-play and desires are given a stark background to battle against.
This is a book with a mystery as the central drive of the narrative, there's more than one perspective, and the time frame jumps so you must puzzle through the clues. It does involve death, suicide and intense relationships, so please check out if this is the read for you.
I thought it was an really absorbing read and would certainly recommend it.
