Having read and enjoyed a later novel by Rachel Crowther (Every Secret Thing) I'm very keen to read another book by this talented writer. The Things You Do For Love reads like more of the same calibre of thoughtful, character based writing with an interesting story line too.

In the extract I read there are sections from 2014 and 1977 and I love books that are set in two different times. The prologue also really caught my attention and made me want to read on.

This book looks right up my street and I think I would enjoy the remainder of it immensely. There is real depth to the writing and I think it requires concentration but it would be well worth it. Crowther's writing is intelligent and thoughtful.
