This is a historical fiction that is set in Ireland and America during the time of the Titanic and the Suffragette movement. The story is about relationships especially between sisters.

The story is set around two sisters, Delia and Nora who are very different but travel from Ireland by the Titanic to America for a better life. Things obviously go wrong for the Titanic and Nora is presumed dead so Delia decided to take her life as a Governess to Lily, the daughter of a wealthy widower Mr O'Hanlon in New York. However Nora survives but suffers from amnesia initially so a kind hearted woman, Mrs Felicity Shaw takes pity on her until her death. Both sisters don't know if other is alive. Nora knew her parents were alive in Donegal, Ireland so she went back. When she got home, she came across Dominic Donnelly who was there for his sister's funeral and was on the Titanic too. He knew Delia was alive in New York and working for Mr O'Hanlon. Their mother hated Delia and made the assumption that Delia wanted to get married to Mr O'Hanlon who she had wanted for Nora. Nora went back to New York and unexpected events take place.

The chapters are written in the first person from the perspective of Nora and Delia. Instantly, Delia is the more likeable character because she has flaws but she is also down to earth, optimistic and cares for others. However, as the story goes on Nora evolves.
