Upon seeing the book I was unsure if this would be something I would like but upon reading the blurb and the sneak peek of the book I was whirled away into the past and thoroughly enjoyed what I read.
The writing style was brilliant and the Irish twang used by the author really helps to picture the story in your minds eye. The characters portrayed of the ma, da and the two girls Nora and Delia really depict the Irish farm family and the struggles and differences in relationships. Delia is a very likeable character from the off and the relationship with her da is very touching.
I perhaps wouldn’t have recommended this book but upon the short bit I read, I would buy this book for an enjoyable trip back in time.
