The book is based on a heartfelt story about two girls from Ireland who will fulfill their future with the help of a letter.
First of first, Delia and Nora are more likely to be opposite to each other rather than sweet. Their taste in life is different. Nora is more about modern life, mother sided child, who wants to live her extra life even if it's not affordable, while Delia is more of a dad's kid who can comply with the poor countryside lifestyle.
Once they find out about their possibility to travel to New York, both have a spark of realisation that they are not alike at all and will be a difficult journey for both of them. The complexity of the situation is well written with an understandable Irish vocabulary, which in my case had a plus point because I like their accent.
On the ship, the sisters are likely to enjoy their time by partying and enjoying new peoples company. Once they realise the ship is about to sink both sisters are running to the saving boats with the help of their new friend. Unfortunately, one of the sisters witnesses a woman sinking which later on turns out to be her sister, Nora.
Delia decides to take her sisters life, by pretending to be her and joining the O'Hanlon house by fulfilling to role of governess for the little Lily. At this point the writer is pointing out a strong twist is about to happen by highlighting Delia's life being turned around with things she has never thought it will happen. Her plan of being Nora Sweeney, instead of Delia is going to her plan but there is a lot of pain she feels because of her lies.
Secondly, I would recommend this book because the writer has hidden the well the spoils by accenting the irish language methods. After Delia settled in the house there is a twist happening with the maid who she is working with, Kathleen, who turns out to know Delias' secret about her second life but who has said nothing until Delia got her 100% trust from Aiden O'Hanlon.
This story goes on with Delia following Aidan to Texas with all the ups and downs they had together where Lily gets lost and Aidan decides that the best would be for Delia to leave them alone. She then spends time with Mayflowers, who is a family friend and wife of an associate of Aidans.
All this time Nora, Delias' sister, is coming in the picture with different chapters about her life which I would really like to leave the suspense to you, the reader.
The end of the  book is well captivated with the hope of a new start for everybody. It had a very huge impact on me (made me use the word "borgue" more) and it left me speechless. It's one of my favourite book and will read it again with no question!
