I liked this book. You really feel for the main character and you can understand fully why she does what she does. The relationship between the sister,s is a turbulent one to start with but it does make you realise how we are shaped by nurture. I did not like Nell at first but as you read more of the story you begin to realise she is not a bad person/child . It is just the way she has been brought up . You do begin to feel sorry for her too in the end. I also feel for their father who doesn't seem to have a say in anything. This novel has a bit of everything - childhood rivalries , travel , mystery , danger and romance . I haven't read anything from this author before but I will look out for them now.
