This was a very different read to what I am used to. The struggle for survival is so real. The reality of the sibling relationship reminds me of my childhood.
The loss and pain felt by the sisters feels heartbreaking.
The detail the author gave us about the time in history and the real issues faced was very accurate. I could imagine living in this time. I was unable to fully predict how this story would end. I was not entirely sure how I wanted it to end or why. This was an interesting read that left me feeling both happy, sad and longing at the same time. I like how the characters were shown, there was good and bad parts of both sisters.
