My first impression of this story is that, although quite amusingly written, it probably lacks the charm of the James Herriot series. The author's determination, from a very young age,to become a vet was made very clear but, sadly, to the extent that I was left with a suspicion that, if I were to read the book, I would be repeatedly reminded of this fact! However, I'm sure the story will appeal to lots of readers.
