This is such a wonderful book told from a man who is very passionate about animals. There are 20 animals listed in this book from armadillos to donkeys to kangaroos. Each and every chapter is an encounter that Jonathan cranston has had with that particular animal; some being sad and others being light hearted and funny. This also has some beautiful colour pictures of the animals. What I really liked was the facts at the end of each chapter. It's not heavy stuff but the usual gestation period, weight, life span and other interesting facts. He also mentions charities that support these animals and let's us know if they endangered or not.
It gave me a great insight into the world of a vetinary surgeon and how much time and patience is needed. Such a great read.
