As someone who wanted to be a vet when I was a child, this book was particularly appealing to me. I love the writing style, it is easy to read and flows well. I was really interested with the different encounters with animals in this book, not just the standard cats and dogs, but armadillos, pandas and many other wierd and wonderful creatures. I like the fact file about the animals too, there is a lot to be learned from this book if you have an interest in finding out more about the animals. I didn't end up becoming a vet, or even working with animals, but from reading this book I can get a taste of what the job is like and how entertaining it can be. I wouldn't have been able to cope with the long hours required!
