One of my favourite books to date. The author writes in an easy to read style, carrying you along with each tale. Each chapter describes his interaction with a different animal, a farm animal followed by a wild animal in Africa followed by a domestic pet for example. All described showing great love and care for all species, with humour and a little self-mockery thrown in for good measure. Also at the end of each chapter there is a very informative section of facts about each animal, detailed enough to absorb and maintain interest without being overly complicated, including a website if you want to follow up information about conservation etc. An excellent book for anyone interested in animals from a vets perspective.
