What a brilliant story, based around Norse mythology Rachel Burge has an amazing way of creating pictures and atmosphere through her words. Centering around 17 year old Martha following a fall and losing the sight in her left eye she finds herself able to feel people's emotions through a single touch of their clothing. Unable to get the answers she needs from home Martha heads off to Norway to speak to the only person who may be able to help.. Mormor. When reaching the house she once enjoyed with her grandmother she's shocked to find Stig a boy unknown to her who delivers the blow that Mormor had recently passed away. Before being able to come to terms with the news Martha is thrown in to a path she'd never have dreamt she'd follow.

I was drawn to the book originally to find something new for my daughter I seen comments refering to it being good for readers of Neil Gaimen.. that and the beautiful cover. Actually what I got was a creepy and suspenseful ghost story that I enjoyed myself. I couldn't put the book down and devoured it in one sitting. I felt the book held many hidden meanings about body positivity to understanding how some things in life you can't change however that doesn't mean you can't write your own story, both of which I feel are important especially to the target audience of the book.

I've also after reading this got the urge to look up old Norwegian tales and myths.
