“You write the story of you every day with your thoughts, words and deeds. You create yourself. You get to decide your story. No one else. You.“

I like the way the story is intertwined with Norse mythology, it gives a real-world element to an otherwise supernatural story.
It’s more “creepy” or “spooky” than it is scary. It’s not one of those books you can only read during daylight hours and then have to get to a “safe place” before you can put the book down for the night (I’m looking at you, IT).
Like a lot of YA fiction there’s also an element of youth and self discovery, coming into powers at a time of adolescence when the characters are just beginning to understand themselves as emerging adults and the ‘powers’ that come with age.

I’d definitely read more from this author based on this book. Like many readers I’m attracted to the cover and found this one intriguing.
