I was hooked on the story from the outset. The creepy mystery feeling has not left me for a moment whilst I was reading it. It's the right amount of creepy though, something a wimp like me can manage! I loved getting to know more obscure Norse myths and the author woven them into the plot beautifully. The family history, secrets, a creepy doll, Norse myths and a mysterious boy - what more could you want in your summer read? Take this book to the beach as I guarantee you will not want to read it alone in the darkness! Another point I should make is that the book isn't long - and it's so refreshing! A book doesn't need to be 900 pages long to tell us a good story and evoke so many emotions. I loved it!
