This book really brought me back to my childhood - not particularly because I am akin to falling on my head quiet a bit but - because the novel held a story tale and captivating element to it; the setting, the magical element... everything about it captured me from the onslaught.

It was equal parts scary and intriguing - a great October lead in the lead up to Halloween! This is a perfect read if you want to be scared straight, I had to sleep with the light on for the next two nights. The build up was perfectly executed.

The thriller and mystery element to the book only adds to its attractiveness, there is constantly a question that you will find yourself needing to be answered. It will be impossible to put the book down as these questions build up.

Overall it was an exiting read that had me on my toes, it was not predictable at all which was extremely refreshing for a ya author.
