I think this book is an absolutely fabulous story. I don't usually read Young adult fiction but I didn't even realise until I started reading, and by that point, I was too hooked in the story to care.

I think Martha is such an exceptional character, and if this is the books the youth are reading today, then I think our future and society are in good hands.

Martha is blind in one eye after a tragic incident. This of course leaves her feeling different and cast out from society and loveless. what she did have, was love for her Mormor, and it was through her love of her Mormor that she conquered her own fears and self doubts and saw herself as the important strong young girl she is.

I also really loved the authors effort of giving special names for each of her characters. at the end of the book she explains why each character has their name, and that really puts the icing on the cake.

Also, as it was set in Norway, with ample of Norse Mythology, I think this would absolutely grip all Percy Jackson fans.
