A very intriguing start.

The start of this book really intrigued me. The prologue seems completely disconnected from the first couple of chapters. To be honest, the history in the prologue is what has drawn me in - the fact that the vikings were the first ‘foreigners’ to find the continent of America. And then the cut to modern day Iceland. This is much more in line, in my opinion, with the bleak cover (which I think is actually quite an attractive picture). The character development is already portraying some intriguing characters right from the beginning. I like the style of writing and the characters seem very accessible and likeable. This promises to be a good book! Ancient history with a bit of murder thrown in, sounds very in-keeping with the ancient past of Iceland.
