Not long after I picked up Michael Ridpath's The Wanderer, I some how found out that it was the FIFTH book in his Fire and Ice series and because of this, I considered putting it back down and discontinue reading it but I did not as what I had read did not read as if it was a continuation on from the previous four books, all of which I have not read.
There were certain points though, where I feel it would have been helpful to me to have read the previous books as there were what I think are references to Ridpath's previous Fire and Ice books and what I think are plot holes but feel would not be if I had read the four others before I read this one.
I still enjoyed this read nonetheless and I am considering reading his series from the first book.
