Although the cover is very professional and pretty, it did not attract me as a reader. The blurb gave a nice description of the basic plot but also left more for the reader to imagine. But from reading the blurb, I knew I wouldn’t exactly like this novel. Simply because it’s not my type of genre.
The writing was very good quality: descriptive and flowed well together. However, it had a monotonous narrative.
The first chapter was the past (1976), and after that it was the present. There were also two different sets of characters because of the different timelines. Therefore, it was difficult to understand the characters.
