A Ghost Story
The Wayward Girls alternates between the past and the present day, telling the story of Bee and Loo Corvino, two sisters living on a farm with their family. It's the long, hot summer of 1976 and there are strange things happening - knocking on the walls, marbles being thrown around and an unexplained presence. Fast forward to the present day and Loo, now known as Lucy, is called back to the house - a paranormal team are wanting to investigate and get to the bottom of what really went on all those years ago.
This is Amanda Mason's debut novel and I must say I thoroughly enjoyed it, it's atmospheric and chilling. It's a ghost story, but also about sisterhood and family secrets. I couldn't quite predict how this one was going to end and so I was quite surprised with the way it did, but I felt everything did tie together quite neatly so I didn't feel disappointed.
If you're easily spooked then you may not want to read this one just before going to bed!
