First of all, the cover is really beautiful. I love how underneath the dust jacket are the words "knock once" written on the hardback. It adds personality to the book presentation.

The story is quite similar to other poltergeist stories I've read and seen on movies, like hunting of the hill house, Merciless or The Exorcism of Emily Rose. It has all the same things that happen in ghost stories, like moving objects, shadows, sounds and other weird things, but this book has something that makes ir stand out from these other stories. It is written in two different timelines. Then and Now. I will be completely honest and say that I liked the story happening Then rather than Now. The first family moving to this hunted house is a lot more interesting to read than the last. I like to read about Bee and Loo especially because they are the most affected people in this story. They have to go through a lot more.

I'm always looking for horror books like this. It is really rare to find a good one that really scares you. This one is addicting to read and keeps a good pace but didn't make me feel any chills. Unfortunately no book has done that to me yet, but it is a good book and I recommend it to anyone who likes ghost stories and hunted houses.

A solid 4 stars.
