This is a very conflicting book. To begin with I'm not a huge fan of the cover, although it is striking it comes across as a very strange book due to the cover. I think a better cover could have been achieved, but maybe it appeals to some people.
I was very intrigued by the synopsis though and I was expecting to find this to be a very engaging read. I was looking forward to reading the novel and recommending it to my friends. However I really struggled to read it due to the writing style, I couldn't connect with it at all.
It's a fairly decent debut novel but I suppose my expectations were too high. I did enjoy learning more about each of the various characters but overall it's not a favourite read of mine.
